FEBRUARY TOURNAMENT RESULTS:

Sunday Couples - February 7

It was a “Super” Sunday at Crystalaire, as players not only participated in the monthly Couples event, but also watched Drew Brees lead the New Orleans Saints to their first ever Super Bowl title after 40 plus years of futility. Ron & Nellie Thomas lit up the links as they scored 27 points to win the Best Ball Stableford event by a single point. Close behind in second place with 26 points were the three teams of Don Anton & Pauline Hudson, Ken & Kathy May and Dick & Cheryl Olmstead. The March Sunday Couples is set for March 7 and will be a Partners Better ball gross and net.

Valentine’s Day “Sweetheart”Tournament - February 14
The annual Crystalaire Valentine’s “Sweetheart” Tournament always tests the fortitude of those couples involved and this year was no different. The modified Pinehurst format is always a challenge, as players tend to play shots from places unimaginable. In the “A” Flight, Kevin Shankel & Paula Miller captured the gross prize with a 79, while Rich & Kay Streckfuss won top net honors with a 70. Second net went to Rich Bessette & Roz Harrison with a 70.5. The “B” Flight saw Don Anton & Pauline Hudson take the top gross award with a 92, with Chris Brewer & Liz Hawley placing first on the net side with a blazing 66. Second net went to Ron & Nellie Thomas with a 69. Thanks to the 14 couples who came out and played in this fun and exciting event.

Individual Stroke Play - February 20
Steve Dembkowski posted a gross 78 to win the Individual Stroke Play event in February. On the net side, Bob Wagenaar fired a 65 for the victory, while Bill Castle was second with a 72. Third place was a tie with Ron Thomas and Bill Miller scoring matching 73’s.

Crystalaire is the place to be!
